NEWS OF MEMBERS

Thomas Fawcett

It is with sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Thomas Fawcett.  Thomas was a neighbour of Mike Bunston, and had joined Probus only last year.  His health prevented him coming to many meetings, but it was clear he enjoyed those that he was able to attend. Our thoughts and prayers go with Thomas' family and friends at this sad time.

Ken Burder

The following message came from our former Chairman Ken Burder.  It's good to hear he's still active (especially in bowls), although not in Probus.

"Hi Ramon,
Many thanks for my birthday wishes - I must admit its been quite hectic since then!
Its nice hear that things are still going well with the club. As you know I spent many happy years and met many friends during the meetings and my wife also enjoyed joining in at the club outings and lunches etc.
I made inquiries at the local Probus club but they only meet, for lunch, once a month and I didn't like the format - especially after the way our club has been organised.
I joined the Brackley Bowls Club about 9 years ago and play 2-3 times a week. Fortunately the club has both indoor and outdoor bowling greens so we are able to play all the year round. Its also a great way of meeting people and keeping fit!
Please pass on my best wishes to all the members and I hope you all continue enjoying the meetings and outings.
All the best,
Ken"
